How it works
No twelve-week build process. No “design discovery workshops.” A simple, proven path from intake to a live, bespoke site you own.
The intake form
A short form that takes about five minutes. We need your name, practice areas, a short bio, a headshot, and your regulated firm details. That's it.
If you'd rather not write a bio from scratch, just paste in your LinkedIn profile URL. We'll work from that and shape it into website copy that reads well and works for search.
We also need your SRA number so we can verify you're on the register. The integrity of Solicitor.Law depends on every person on it being a genuine, practising solicitor.
Design your site
During registration, you choose your design in three simple steps.
A. Choose your style
Pick from 4 pre-designed bundles: Classic (traditional), Modern (clean), Editorial (refined), or Bold (striking). Each bundle is a complete set of layout variants that work beautifully together.
B. Pick your colour
Choose from 5 colour themes — Forest, Navy, Slate, Burgundy, or Ink. Each one defines your site's primary colour, backgrounds, and accents.
C. Select your fonts
5 font pairings: Classic (warm), Modern (geometric), Editorial (literary), Confident (bold), or Refined (elegant). See a live preview with sample text before you decide.
That's it. 4 × 5 × 5 = 100+ unique combinations. Your site will look completely different from every other site on the platform. Bespoke clients move beyond this picker entirely — see step 3.
The build
Your site is built bespoke for you. It is not a WordPress template. It loads fast, looks sharp on every device, and includes proper regulatory wording for consultant solicitors.
Starter, Growth and Authority are built from our curated component system using your design choices and bespoke copy written for you. SEO foundations are built in from the start — semantic HTML, proper metadata, fast load speed, mobile-first design. Authority adds full schema markup (LegalService) on every page and 8–10 pages built around your practice areas.
Bespoke is a different beast. It begins with a 1:1 strategy call with Steven, then a truly unique creation: 20+ pages of bespoke optimised content, custom local-SEO landing pages targeting “[specialism] solicitor in [location]”, and schema markup on every page. Live within 14 working days.
The review
You get a private preview link within your tier's build window — 48 hours for Starter and Growth, 5 working days for Authority, 14 working days for Bespoke. One round of amends is included — tweak the wording, swap the photo, adjust the emphasis. Your call.
In scope: wording changes, photo swaps, emphasis tweaks, reordering practice areas, adjusting your bio.
Out of scope: complete redesign, additional pages beyond your tier, custom functionality. If you need something bigger we'll quote it separately, or recommend Bespoke.
Going live
Once you approve, the site goes live at yourname.solicitor.law. It's indexed by Google and ready to share with clients, referrers, and anyone who searches for you. Your yourname@solicitor.law forwarding email goes live at the same time, with SMTP “Send As” so you can send mail from your own client.
The site is yours. It's built bespoke for you and stays exactly as built unless you ask for changes. We don't silently swap layouts or push redesigns. The infrastructure beneath it (security, compliance, uptime) we keep current; the visible site is yours to keep or change as you choose.
Authority and Bespoke include custom domain setup if you want to point yourname.co.uk at the site. Starter and Growth can add a custom domain as a £49 bolt-on. Either way, the solicitor.law subdomain stays active too, so you always have a backup.
After launch
Hosting is billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You can view invoices and manage your payment method any time through the Stripe customer portal.
Your monthly hosting fee covers everything you need to keep the site online: hosting, SSL, your subdomain, your yourname@solicitor.law email forwarding, the directory listing, and ongoing compliance updates as the rules change. It also includes minor edits per quarter — phone number, email address, contact details, photo swap, single-line text changes. Email us and we do them.
For anything bigger, see the bolt-ons on the pricing page: new pages at £75, blog posts at £99, or an annual SEO health check at £149. To cancel, do it through the Stripe portal — the site goes dark at the end of the current billing period and your subdomain is held for 30 days before being released.
What about content?
The website itself is the deliverable. Once it's built and live, it stays as built — bespoke for you, not subject to drift. Some clients want ongoing help with content (blog posts, practice-area page refreshes, traffic reporting) and some don't. That's why content updates are sold separately, not bundled into the core tiers.
The optional Content subscription is available to Authority and Bespoke clients at three levels:
- ✓Content Light (£49/mo): one blog post or article per month, written for you.
- ✓Content Standard (£99/mo): two blog posts plus one practice-area page refresh per month.
- ✓Content Pro (£199/mo): four blog posts, one new page or refresh per month, plus monthly traffic and enquiry reporting.
You can add or cancel a Content subscription independently of your hosting plan, anytime. Or stick with one-off bolt-ons — £99 per blog post, written individually, no subscription required.
