Steven Mather, Founder

Solicitor.Law was founded by Steven Mather, a practising solicitor admitted in England and Wales. Steven runs a busy commercial practice covering business sales and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, EMI share option schemes, and general corporate and commercial work — billing real clients, attending real completions, and dealing with real SDLT headaches.

Steven is also a member of the Law Society Council — the governing body of the solicitors' profession in England and Wales — and cares deeply about the profession and the people in it.

He has been building websites since before Google was a thing. Not as a side project — as a serious revenue channel. His own practice website generates over £200,000 of instructions a year, ranks on the first page of Google for dozens of competitive legal search terms, and converts visitors into paying clients consistently, month after month.

Over 25+ years he has worked out what makes a legal website actually produce work. Not just look pretty. Not just exist. Produce work.
